To experience the famous mirror effect, you must arrive before dawn (typically between 3:00 AM and 4:00 AM). The physical access involves parking your motorbike or car near the entrance embankment (parking fees are around 10,000 VND to 20,000 VND), and then embarking on a 1.5 to 3-kilometer trek. The first section of the path winds through a mangrove forest and consists of very soft, slippery, and muddy clay. Walking barefoot or wearing snug-fitting, high-top boots is highly recommended, as standard shoes will easily get stuck in the mud. After navigating the mangroves, you will emerge onto the vast, flat, ankle-deep tidal flats.
Widely celebrated as Vietnam's "Infinity Beach" (Bai bien vo cyc), Quang Lang is not a traditional swimming resort beach with white sands and blue waves. Instead, it is an active tidal mudflat and a stunning natural marvel. Quang Lang is famous for its breathtaking, surreal landscape. Because the brown sandy mudflat is incredibly flat and vast, when the tide recedes, it leaves behind a thin, uniform sheet of water that is only ankle-deep. Under the calm, early morning air, this water serves as a colossal, seamless mirror that reflects the entire sky, completely erasing the horizon and creating the illusion of an "infinity sea." Since this is a wild, uncommercialized workspace for fishermen, there are no public restrooms, changing cabins, rinsing showers, or food vendors out on the mudflats. You must carry your own water, keep your electronics in waterproof bags, and be prepared to wash off the mud back at the local parking area or at a guesthouse in nearby Diem dien town.
