Vehicles are left in flat, paved parking spaces near the village pier or communal houses. From there, visitors board a local wooden boat or a speedy canoe for a short 5-to-10-minute trip across the water to the island. The boat transfers you directly onto a flat wooden floating jetty or directly onto the shoreline, making the final transition to the sand a completely flat, short walk of just a few steps with no steep cliffs or stairs to climb.
Hon Kho Beach is a beautifully raw, rustic, and windswept stretch of fine white sand nestled against a dramatic, arid rocky mountain facade. The surrounding ocean is strikingly translucent, revealing a brilliant palette of bright turquoise and deep blue that makes the thriving coral reefs and sea grass beneath easily visible from the surface. Because the island is protected by surrounding rock formations, the water along the sandy crescent remains relatively calm and shallow, making it an excellent spot for swimming and snorkeling.
