For Vietnamese citizens, the beach is physically accessed by first taking a 30-to-60-minute wooden ferry or a 20-minute speedboat from Ba Ngoi Port in Cam Ranh to Binh Ba Island's main pier. Because Bai Nom is situated right on the edge of the island's main residential area, you can walk directly to the shoreline in less than 10 minutes from the pier, or take a quick motorbike taxi. If you rent a scooter, you can leave it at one of the paved parking lots adjacent to the beachfront hotels and seafood stalls for approximately 10,000 VND to 20,000 VND, which provides flat, immediate access onto the sand.
As the most popular and vibrant beach on Binh Ba Island, Bai Nom is a gorgeous crescent of fine, powdery white sand nestled between two towering rocky headlands that shield the bay. This natural harbor keeps the water exceptionally calm, flat, and virtually wave-free, making it highly safe and ideal for families, casual wading, and relaxed swimming, particularly during the dry season from March to September. The sea is remarkably clear and clean, with a gentle sandy seabed that allows you to easily spot tiny fish swimming around your feet. While there are no formal public lifeguard patrols or safety buoy lines, the beach is lively and highly social, offering water sports like jet-skiing and banana boat rides. A colorful lineup of rustic seafood restaurants and local guesthouses steps from the water offer sun loungers, restrooms, and freshwater rinsing showers for a small fee of about 10,000 VND, along with the opportunity to feast on the island's legendary fresh lobster right on the shore.
